"I just received my Catspaw Blade today. It is absolutely beautiful! The workmanship is fantastic and the balance is perfect. It is even nicer than I had expected. You guys are to be congratulated on your products. Thanks!"

"Absolutely beautiful. We own longclaw, robbs sword and now the catspaw dagger and I must say it is a wonderful addition. I would agree that the dragonbone could have used a more authentic look but its still a fine piece. The mounting plaque is a wonderful touch as well, I love the detail of the animals representing various houses of Westeros. I would almost consider buying a second one it looks so good. Excellent work Valyrian Steel, please keep making great replicas, this one is top notch."

"Just received number 2500. She is a beauty. To bad about the plastic handle but oh well the rest makes up for it. This is my 7th purchase from Valyrian Steel. They never disappoint."

"This is actually a very nice piece, it looks amazing and I would love to have one, but have no money :P It does look so much like a Game of Thrones blade :)"

"I bought my Catspaw Blade a few years ago and it is my favorite piece. I was just wondering if there were any plans to release a sheath / scabbard for this blade as was done for the others?"

"At first I wasn't sure how I would like the dagger with the plastic handle, until I received it in the mail. It has a wonderful Damascus design on the blade and ends up going well with the handle. Satisfied and would recommend getting one before they all run out!"

"The blade on this piece is absolutely fantastic. Before it arrived I was skeptical about how well the valyrian pattern would show up, but boy does this blade not disappoint! As soon as I opened the box on dagger #0006, the folded steel pattern was easily visible, and it looks just like the pictures. I am a little disappointed in the handle though. It also looks just like the pictures which, unfortunately, means that it looks a bit like a plastic 'fake' to me. The overall design and production of the dagger (blade, handle shape, handle color, weight balance, etc.) are all fantastic. I just wish the "dragon bone" material of the handle looked more real... to be fair to Valyrian Steel, I have no idea how you would do this without making it crazy expensive. Overall, great work as always VS!"

"Just opened my catspaw blade #0075. The blade part is wonderful, but like Dan A., the plastic look of the handle was a bit disappointing. Actual bone/horn even of just deer could have been used I believe for the price, but an overall nice piece. My only other gripe is "China" stamped into the handle, not sure if it was necessary. Still though, no regrets :) VS Response: Would have been impossible to use real horn or bone. The prop used real african antelope horn, but since antelopes aren't kind enough to grow identical horns, it wouldn't have been possible to mass produce identical handle parts which means every last component would need to be hand made for each individual knife. Plus, it may have become illegal to import to some countries by using a real animal part."

Am I in Littlefingers Brothel?!?
"Awesome attention to detail. I feel like it just came from Cat's grasp! Seriously awesome craftsmanship from what I can tell from the photo. I wish this was more in the $150-$175 range, so more of us commoners can get one! But I'm sure its worth every cent of $230. Only possible complaint - the pattern of the Damascus steel doesn't seem very iinteresting (in the photo at least) but other than that, I WANT ONE! Make that two :)
Keep up the good work Smiths of Valyria!!"

"Let me start off by saying that this is a one of a kind as far as fantasy weapons go. I am afraid I can't seem to write some sycophantic dribble on how great VS really is. When compared to other reputable (or formerly reputable) replicas from other films and shows like Lord of the Rings (united cutlery) these seem to have prices marked up higher than they need to be in my opinion. Especially since they are all mostly made in India or China.
Now, having said that, this dagger is awesome. I've been wanting it since I first saw it for sale. But I thought the thing was overpriced, seeing how the handle is made from cast resin/plastic. So I waited as months turned into years and the price did not go down. The only real issue I have with the blade is that it's "damascus" blade seems like laminate steel with a pattern painted on. The damascus steel on this blade does not resemble the steel on the damascus versions of the swords sold here.
And one more thing, the fuller groove is only on ONE SIDE!!
With all that in mind I still think this dagger is awesome, and Valyrian Steel could use some advice. For example, quit censorship. Let people write their own reviews without being subject to approval of whoever is working that day.
And also WHERE IS THE SWORD OF THE MOUNTAIN/ROBERT STRONG???? They did a great job on Ice, both versions, and would make a giant great Sword of Clegane.
Where's the Kings Guard Helmet? Stannis' Gorget? Baratheon Kite shield with flaming heart/stag Stannis sigil? Dornish flamberge spear? We are waiting.
VS Response: We don't censor reviews. Which is not to mean every review gets posted, we get spam reviews, or vulgar reviews, or just hater reviews from people who haven't bought the thing (they'll say "This looks stupid, no one should buy it."). And of course we don't allow links or mentions of other stores for obvious reasons. So those don't get posted, but mediocre or negative reviews from actual customers do get posted.
It is also real damascus steel. The pattern is different, but the pattern is meant to be different. If you Google "damascus patterns" or "pattern welded steel patterns" you can see it really comes in a wide variety of patterns depending on the smith combines the metals. It is a whole artform trying to make different patterns.
Then there is the price, believe it or not this thing was more expensive to make than most of our swords, margins on it are lower than all our swords as well. We have cut the price on it once since release. But the damascus steel, the gold plating, all the little intricate handle parts, are not cheap."
