We’ve donated some products to Worldbuilders again this year. Two of particular note.

So, every time we make a product, we also need to make some for HBO to give to VIPs. GRRM gets at least one of everything, and while HBO doesn’t share their VIP list with us, I can only imagine that the showrunners, maybe the president of the network, directors, costume designers, and actors get these. In these cases, we made 18 extra of each damascus sword, but HBO didn’t need all 18, and they kindly let us sell or otherwise dispose of the extra. We previously auctioned a set of the two swords above and together they went for around $3500 as I recall, this time we’ve donated a set to Worldbuilders, but they’ve chosen to auction them separately.

So, what you have, is essentially an edition of 18, where most of those 18 are going to VIPs, making these highly collectible.

So bid like you’re voting in Chicago, early and often. Worldbuilders is a great charity, sort of a meta charity, because what they do is raise money for another charity, Heifer International, which is a great “teach a man to fish” sort of charity. Where rather than doing things like providing food aid to poor subsistence farmers in developing countries, they instead provide livestock and education so that the family can learn to use their livestock to provide for themselves, and the first baby their livestock has is given back to Heifer to give to a new family making it a bit viral. It is almost like a grant to a poor subsistence farmer to increase his production so in the future he will not need grants, the best form of charity, it helps people help themselves.

PS: My understanding is eBay isn’t giving kind international shipping quotes for these auctions. If you’re international and interested in bidding contacting them for an exact quote might be worthwhile. I wouldn’t trust the ebay shipping quotes, they’re much higher than they need to be.

Christmas is on a Thursday, most international destinations could received delivery by Christmas even if they order as late as December 21st and choose UPS Express (or Express Saver) shipping. Order by December 17th and choose UPS Expedited shipping. For cheaper regular mail shipping anytime after this Friday and you’re really pushing your luck, though it is possible you can still get it ordering as late as perhaps the 12th, it would not be guaranteed. For domestic US shipments you can order next day air by the morning of the 23rd and have it delivered in time for Christmas. 2nd day air on the 22nd, 3 day select on Friday the 19th. Ordering by the 17th should allow regular ground shipping to reach you anywhere in the US (except Alaska and Hawaii), the closer you are to Michigan the longer you can wait on that ground cutoff.

At Motor City Comic Con a few weeks back Khal Drogo himself, Jason Momoa, was kind enough to hang out at our booth and try out the merchandise.

We are pleased to announce the newest product in our line of licensed collectibles from the HBO® series Game of Thrones®. The Unsullied Helm is a leather and steel prop replica. It was modeled directly on the actual screen used prop from the show, with accurately matched finishes and dimensions. It is a limited edition of 2500 pcs and will come with a display stand and a certificate of authenticity. The Unsullied Helm will retail for an MSRP of $300, we will start accepting preorders, on Monday May 12th, for late summer 2014 deliveries.

We get questions frequently “Are you going to make more book products?” or “When will you make more book products?” As you may have heard, George R.R. Martin is incredibly busy, and unlike our HBO license where we copy an existing design, when working with GRRM we have to generate new original designs based on what is in his head, and that requires his time, which is in short supply, so the book products necessarily have slowed down, but they have not stopped, nor do we plan for them to stop.

In fact, we just renewed our license with George R.R. Martin through 2026, which is great because it ensures us the opportunity to do replicas from the final books, should any new interesting weapons surface in them, as well as to continue with book items long after the show finishes (though, I know many of us are hoping for spinoffs or feature film prequels). We’re certainly very happy with the renewal, we can’t wait to see what new weapons might surface in the final two books and reproduce them for you. Currently in development on the book license we are working on Oathkeeper, and Daario’s “ladies.”

Longclaw Scabbard, VS0108, will start to ship tommorow. If you’ve moved or changed address since you placed your order, please let us know. If you backordered both the scabbard and the sword in the same order, we will hold off on shipping the scabbard until your sword ships later this month so they can go together.

We are going to start processing shipping labels for Longclaw, Damascus Longclaw, and Damascus Ice soon. You may be emailed a tracking number, that does NOT mean the product has shipped, only that we processed the label. We’re looking at the 1st week of March right now but there are so many labels to get through, we want to start working on them. Also, if you’ve moved and need the address changed, please EMAIL us so that your sword finds you safely.

Everyone has has ordered Longclaw should get it shipped, but we only are getting enough damascus swords to cover a portion of the earliest existing preorders, the rest will be here in May.
